Ways to Give
Join our Family of Monthly Donors
We are grateful you believe in helping others. A monthly donation of $25 could fill a survival package with essentials for a homeless youth, $50 per month could buy a youth a prepaid phone card so she can reconnect with her father, and $100 could buy a bus pass for a youth so they can get to work and keep a job. Gifts of Securities
Your generous gift of securities that can include stocks, bonds and mutual funds are not subjected to capital gains tax when donated directly to a charity. In addition to providing tax benefits, your gift of securities will help children, young people and families in most need of mental health support. For more information on how to donate securities please contact [email protected], or click here if you are ready to complete our easy-to-use online Transfer of Securities form.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts
When you make a donation to celebrate a friend or remember a loved one, you are giving twice. First, to the person you are honouring with your gift, and again to the children and youth in Wood’s Homes’ care. At your request, we will send a notification in recognition of your gift. The amount of your donation will not be disclosed and you will receive a charitable tax receipt. Your gift can be made online or by calling the Wood’s Homes Foundation at 403-270-1718.
Planned Giving
You can leave a lasting legacy of helping families and changing the lives of children. A gift in your will ensures those who need help in the future will not be left behind. In many cases, a charitable donation will reduce the taxes on your estate, which means there is little or no impact on what can be passed on to your loved ones.
What will be the story you leave behind when you’re gone? We’ll all leave a story. Some will be exceptional in the eyes of many, others will be quietly remarkable. Please make your story count for the children and families of tomorrow.
Large or small, legacy gifts ensure we will be there for those who need help in the future. Their numbers will continue to grow, and their needs will be more complex. You can help secure their future with a gift in your will.
If you worry that a charitable gift will consume the resources you may need as you age, or deplete what you want to leave for you loved ones – you may be surprised. There are many ways that tax credits for charitable gifts, and simple planning can allow you to do all three.
We encourage you to share your thoughts with your family and explore your options for charitable giving with a trusted legal, tax, or accounting specialist who is knowledgeable about the financial benefits of charitable giving.
We can also help. Call or email us today for confidential, pressure-free suggestions about how you can outlive yourself and reserve your spot in our history through your story of support.
*Ask your legal advisor about adding a simple amendment to your existing will (a codicil) to include a charitable gift.
