Supporting children, young people and families in need this holiday season.

The need for hope

The holidays are often the hardest time of year for many of our families and young people. Many of the kids in Wood’s Homes programs do not get to go home for the holidays, and many families struggle to fill stockings and put food on the table. Wood’s Homes for the Holidays aims to lessen this burden and ensure every young person and family in care feels special during the holiday season.

Make a child's wish come true

Miracle Maker

What's better than granting a wish to one child during the holidays? Creating a magical experience for an entire family or clients living in campus-based programs!

As a Miracle Maker, we will work with you to support a family or small program group to bring magic to this holiday season. Once you decide how many families or small program groups you wish to support, we will send you their stories and wish lists so you can make miracles happen.

Fill out the form below and we will be in touch:

Wish Worker

By becoming a Wish Worker, you can make the holiday season extra special for a young person by gifting them an item from our wish list! Simply choose which item(s) you would like to give, then drop it off at any of the locations listed below between now and Dec. 15 (the earlier the better!).

Parkdale Campus (Administration): 805 37 St. NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 4N8

Inglewood Opportunity Hub: 1008 14 Street SE Calgary, AB, T2G 3K3

Lethbridge Main Office: 312 3 Street S. Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1Y9

Dream Doner

Another way you can make a big impact for vulnerable young people and their families is by becoming a Dream Doner through a financial donation of any amount.

One hundred per cent of the proceeds will go towards the purchase of wish list items for our clients.

Employee Giving

Bring your organization together and give hope to children, young people and families who are struggling. There is power in numbers. Together, your employees and organization can make more of a difference. By leveraging your employee giving opportunities and directing them all in one direction - well, as the saying goes, the more the merrier! You will make a child, young person or family's holiday merrier this season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are Wood's Homes clients unable to go home for the holidays?

Many of our younger clients do not have a safe place to call home during the holidays, often because their parents or caregivers are not able to support their needs. Some children do not have a parent or caregiver in the picture at all.

Because of this, fellow Wood’s Homes clients and staff members become their “family” during this difficult time, offering a sense of support and connection.
